The Cinque Terre coast
Tiny multicoloured villages of the Cinque Terre National Park are located on the rocks and hills by the sea. They all are connected with a multitude of hiking trails that are stretched through the thickets of Mediterranean nature beauty. The air here is fresh and clean and the panoramas can take your breath away. No wonder that more than two and a half million tourists come to visit Cinque Terre villages every year.
Cinque Terre villages
There are five villages in the National Cinque Terre Park (means Five Lands in Italian): Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, and Riomaggiore. Please check the page “Visit Cinque Terre villages” to get more information.
Cinque Terre hiking trails
The whole Cinque Terre area is covered with diverse hiking trails. You have probably happened to hear about the Azure Trail, made up of four small sections that unite five villages of the Cinque Terre. The legendary Path of Love (Via dell’Amore) is the smallest and easiest one. For more detailed information about all the sections please visit “The Azure Trail - more details with the map” page. Still, there are some alternative trails for hiking, called “high”, as they are longer and cross the tops of the hills. The trails are described in the “Longer trails, more details with the map” section. We recommend you to try visiting both types of the trails to fully enjoy the diversity of hiking, though it will take you at least two days.
